Step by step OBIEE 12c installation on Linux machine

1. Download and stage the software

2. Prerequisite check

2. Installing Java

3. Installing fusion middleware infrastructure

4. Installing obiee

5. Configuring obiee

Download and staging the software :

Download the obiee 12c software from edelevery.oracle.com and extract to a directory in the system.

Prerequisite Check:

1. Host name must be successfully resolved

2. Check for the operating system support.

3. Inventory must be writable.

4. Disable the firewall using below command

5. Add the below kernel parameters to sysctl.conf file under the location /etc

6. To make these changes effect run sysctl -p command

7. Add the below line in login under /etc/pam.d

8. Add the below in limits.conf file under /etc/security

9. Install the below required rpms

10. Creating an user for installation

Installing Java:

Installing Fusion Middleware Infrastructure:

Give the inventory path and click ok

Click Next

Select Skip Auto Updates and click Next

Give the ORACLE_HOME path and click Next

Click Next

Click Next

Uncheck and Click Next

Click Install

Click Next

Click Finish

Installing OBIEE:

Click ok

Click Next

Click Next

Give ORACLE_HOME and click Next

Select any option and click Next

Click Next

Click Install

Click Next

Click Finish

Configuring OBIEE:

Click Next

Click Next

Give the details and click Next

Select Create new schemas and provide the prefix , password and database details and click next.

Note:

If we want to select " Use existing schemas" we need to run rcu utility first from the location $ORACLE_HOME/oracle_common/bin/rcu before starting obiee configuration.

Specify the port range and click Next

Click Next

Click Configure

Click Next

Click Finish
